#SMSPossibilities Campaign

Our #SMSPossibilties campaign is a positive awareness campaign for our SMS community to give a voice to our loved ones with SMS and to provide them with an opportunity to share who they are!

How It Works: We invite you to share a short video showcasing your loved one with SMS engaging in an activity he/she enjoys, and sharing a “possibility” they exhibit that makes them uniquely them! Ex. “I make singing possible,” “My possibility is learning to walk,” “Playing a sport is possible for me,” etc.

Videos will be featured throughout PRISMS website, social media pages, and at our 2020 International Conference in Dallas, TX ! Let’s celebrate all of the possibilities that our children have achieved and are striving to achieve which make this rare community so extraordinary.

Tips for Your Short Video:

  • Video submissions should be no longer than 2 minutes in length that demonstrates a unique quality or passion.
  • In the video, you or your loved one with SMS should state their name, age, (optional), and their “SMSPossibilties” statement before showcasing the activity or quality. Ex. “My name is John. I am 12 years old and I can run fast!” or Ex. “This is my daughter Jane. She is 20 years old. She is a singer!”
  • Videos can be filmed on a laptop or smart phone device. Try to film in a quiet area, where you can easily be heard. And a well-lit area, where you can easily be seen. When filming on a smart phone, film with the device held horizontally.
  • Videos are to be submitted to PRISMS, Inc., through our Official PRISMS Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/SmithMagenisSyndromePRISMS/) or to [email protected].
  • Videos must be submitted by June 30th, 2020 for inclusion at the 2020 International Conference.

PRISMS PATIENT REGISTRY

PRISMS SMS Patient RegistryThe SMS Patient Registry aims to accelerate research in SMS by gathering as much data as possible about SMS in one place and making it accessible to interested researchers. Patient registries are especially important in rare diseases like SMS, since there are fewer individuals with SMS being seen at any one clinic.

To help make it easier for our community to participate, our research team will be on-site at the conference to help guide interested families through the Patient Registry sign-up process.

If you are interested in getting more information about the registry and how to participate at the conference, make sure to check the box during registration to allow us to reach out to you about registry participation! For more information check out our website here, or contact the study team via email at [email protected] or by phone at 713-798-5689.
