How to Use Event Apps to Improve Engagement
Join three meeting planners and a mobile app provider for an informative and entertaining discussion on how to get the most out of mobile apps for your conference. We'll share stories and discuss several key topics, such as important terms to know, increasing attendee engagement, improving supplier/vendor participation, analytics, and what Apple and Android require of meeting organizers.

Phil Rappoport, AgendaPop Mobile Event App

AgendaPop’s Vice President, Sales & Marketing. For over 30 years Phil has served in marketing and promotion management capacities for companies in technology, consumer products, and broadcasting, including AOL/America Online, Fox Television, Sony, and Tribune. In the 1990s, he produced a weekly late-night entertainment program for the ABC Television network. Prior to AgendaPop, Phil was Senior VP, Client Services for Surefire Local, an SEO/social media agency serving small to medium sized businesses across the U.S. Previously, he was a franchise owner, certified contractor and consultant in the home improvement industry.


Helene Slavin, NACHC

Helene is a Meetings Associate with the National Association for Community Health Centers’ Meetings and Exhibits Division. In this role, Helene coordinates conference programming and the abstract submission process; oversees and updates the conference content management system and department pages on the organizational website; serves as liaison for conference participants, contractors, and vendors; and manages the development of all printed and electronic conference materials. She is also staff lead in developing and updating the mobile app for each conference.  Helene’s professional experience also includes the publishing sector where she served as a Support Manager at Hanley Wood, a business-to-business media company. Helene is a graduate of Marist College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.
Renee Latimer, ADEA, MBA, DES
Renee parlays her business acumen and passion for education into integrating technology with learning. In Renee's current role with the American Dental Education Association, she coordinates both small and mid-size domestic and international events, in addition to managing intersecting technologies such as mobile apps, webinars, and ADEA's learning management system. Renee earned her Digital Event Strategist (DES) certification in December 2016. She also has a certification in Advanced e-Learning Instructional Design

Jilien Harvey, DBIA
Jilien currently works for the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) as the Director, Meetings & Events.  Jilien has worked in the hospitality and event planning industry for over 18 years and worked in Dallas, Minneapolis, Columbus, Chicago, and now D.C.  Jilien has worked for many different types of organizations planning anything frin a  celebrity pro-am golf tournaments to full scale multi day association conferences and tradeshows.  She is a graduate of the Purdue University school of Hospitality Tourism Management and a proud Boilermaker.  

This educational program is planned for .75 clock hours for CEU credits under the domain/knowledge area of Meeting or Event Design.
