SC218. TSAAPT: The Origin of Modern Physics: The Work of Max and Albert
Modern physics has its origin at the turn of the 20th century. Newtonian physics has its origin in the 18th century. We are now in the 21st century and the physics curriculum needs to include all of the physics concepts. This short course will start with the Planck constant and continue to the photoelectric effect. In addition, we will work on materials for a complete unit on the photoelectric effect, including an assessment document. The topics in this short course are used repeatedly in the technology of the 21st century. Today?s students need to be aware of these foundation concepts that are so integral to the advancement of research and development. Participants will use and receive a set of LEDs, pot switches, and resisters for a class set up of 8 stations with 8 LEDs per station.
