Announcing Hilary Rodham Clinton at Assembly 2014
Keynote Address Speaker, Saturday, April 26

Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will deliver the Saturday morning keynote address April 26 at the Make It Happen! Assembly 2014. Secretary Clinton knows how to Make It Happen for women, children and youth. In 1996, Clinton’s New York Times Best Selling book It Takes a Village: And Other Lessons Children Teach Us brought new insights about how families and communities work together for children. Just this past year, Clinton launched an initiative for early childhood literacy: Too Small to Fail. “Her work reflects commitments United Methodist Women and our predecessor organizations have worked toward for 145 years. We look forward to hearing what she has learned in her work with women around the world,” said Harriett Jane Olson, general secretary and CEO of United Methodist Women.

Announcing a day rate for Assembly 2014!
Want to come to Assembly but don't have time to do all three days? For $100 you may register for either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday day pass. You will have access to everything scheduled on the day you choose. Online registration closes April 4.

After April 4, if seating capacity is not met, you can register for either Friday or Sunday on-site, at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

A First! Assembly 2014 Is a Green Event!
United Methodist Women members will have the opportunity to learn and address climate change at Assembly 2014. Volunteers will be on hand to help members dispose of their waste by teaching “reduce, reuse, recycle and compost.” China and silverware will be used for dining instead of paper and plastic products.

We encourage United Methodist Women members to attend the environmental justice workshops offered at Assembly and view the films Gasland and Chasing Ice to learn more about how climate change adversely affects our lives. The three environmental justice workshops are: Challenging FrackingWhat Race and Class Have to Do With Climate and Resource Exploitation.
