Conference Summary

Calcium signals are among the most important chemical cues in any eukaryotic cell. They underlie signal transduction pathways which regulate the release of neurotransmitters, hormones, the contraction of muscle cells, gene transcription, and fertilization.

This FASEB Science Research Conference (SRC), which launched in 1987, has been a main forum for presenting the latest insights and discoveries in the calcium signaling field, highlighting a rapidly moving and vibrant area of research.

This conference brings together a highly interdisciplinary group of scientists representing academia and industry who study and conduct research on the cellular, biophysical, physiological, and pathophysiological aspects of calcium signaling.
