Continuing Education Credits

The Brattleboro Retreat’s Office of Continuing Education is approved to provide continuing education credit hours by the following organizations:

Social Workers
The Brattleboro Retreat, provider #1139, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. The Brattleboro Retreat maintains responsibility for the program. ASWB Approval Period: October 10, 2019 - - October 10, 2021. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. Social workers participating in this full day intermediate-level course will receive 6 clinical continuing education clock hours.

New York State Social Workers

The Brattleboro Retreat is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0298. Social workers participating in a full day course will receive 6 continuing education contact hours.
Licensed Mental Health Counselors 
The Brattleboro Retreat has been approved by National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6309. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The Brattleboro Retreat is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. LCMHCs (and LMHCs) participating in this one day course will receive 6 continuing education clock hours.

Drug & Alcohol Counselors

This course has been approved by the Brattleboro Retreat, as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, for 6 educational credits. NAADAC Provider #62508, the Brattleboro Retreat is responsible for all aspects of the programming. 

Marriage & Family Therapists
6 contact hours will be requested through the Vermont Board of Allied Mental Health Practitioners.

Physicians

The Brattleboro Retreat is accredited by the New Hampshire Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians
.The Brattleboro Retreat designates this conferences for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).™ Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Psychologists
6 CE credit hours. The Brattleboro Retreat is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. The Brattleboro Retreat maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Nurses
6 ANCC contact hours. The Brattleboro Retreat is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by The Northeast Multi-state Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Teacher Recertification
6 credit hours, approval based on submission to state licensure board as part of Professional Development Plan.

Workshop Attendance Requirements

  • Participants are required to sign in and attend events in their entirety.
  • No partial credit will be given. No exceptions.
  • All professional disciplines will be asked to sign out at the end of the day. 
  • It is the attendees' responsibility to contact  their licensing/certification board(s) to determine eligibility to meet your continuing education requirements.
  • Evaluations are distributed electronically within 24 hours of the end of the conference. Receiving a CE certificate is contingent upon completing the electronic evaluation.
