ABOUT THIS SESSION
The United States is becoming more culturally diverse and there is increasing likelihood that the racial and ethnic background of the client and provider will differ. As a result, it is incumbent upon the clinician to develop a greater awareness and facility in working with populations with differing backgrounds. This workshop will focus on equipping clinicians with the requisite skills to be more successful in working with Black populations.
Learning Objectives - Participants will be able to:
- Identify the historical barriers to engaging Black populations in care
- Develop clinical strategies to heighten engagement in Black populations
- Explain the impact of social media and social movement on clinical engagement strategies
