Course Description:

Used in conjunction with the standard Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) protocol, the I-Gaze Interweave offers an intimate, dyadic resource for facilitating the resolution of attachment trauma.  This seminar  includes: 1) a heuristic model called the Domain of Self that differentiates attachment trauma from relational or shock traumas 2) an assessment model that measures stability and offers remedies for over- or under-arousal 3) somatic interweaves for regulating autonomic arousal and 4) theoretical and practical aspects of the I-Gaze Interweave to facilitate attachment repair. Completion of EMDR Basic training is required.

Learning Objectives - At the end of this conference, participants will be able to:

1.  Apply a typology of “self-experience” and be able to rapidly and identify salient negative cognition for EMDR targeting.
2.  Describe the zone of optimal processing for efficient and safe reprocessing.
3.  Describe four varieties of suboptimal processing and identify strategies for intervention.
4.  Utilize somatic interweaves for maintaining their clients within the zone of optimal processing.
5.  Utilize the I-Gaze interweave for attachment repair during phase four of the 8 phase EMDR protocol.
