Donation after circulatory determination of death (DCDD) cases can often be accompanied by ethically challenging circumstances, particularly in pediatric cases. During this webinar, we will discuss the ethical questions families face during pediatric DCDD case and how to reconcile one’s own ethics in relation to ethical questions presented during a case.

Target Audience:

Members of the donation and transplantation community serving diverse populations to include administrators, coordinators, physicians, nurses, surgeons, managers, quality improvement specialists, social workers, and other donation and transplantation center professionals and their colleagues.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the webinar the participant will be able to:

  • Describe ethical questions that might arise during a pediatric DCDD case.
  • Explain how to communicate and clarify the healthcare team and physician’s role during a pediatric DCDD case.
  • Identify how to differentiate between one’s own ethics from the ethics a case presents and describe how to navigate this difference.
