Course Description:

Telemental health is a quickly growing field.  Whether clinicians are seeking out opportunities to practice in these areas or feeling as if this wave is overtaking them, this training is designed to address the use of technology in clinical practice.

This course will introduce mental health practitioners to the practice and complexities of telemental health practice and supervision.  In many states (e.g., Georgia Telemental Health rule 153-11-01, October, 2015), this includes any form of contact with clients or supervisees using technology (including telephone, video, internet, smartphone, tablet, desktop computer).  Dr. Ashby has organized this workshop to help attendees develop an understanding of the key components necessary to provide the competent delivery of telemental health services, including platforms used, emergency procedures, authentication, and crisis management.
