Purpose/Goal:

When the choice is made for donation to occur, families receive a new title… Donor Family.  It’s a title they would trade any day to have their loved one back, but one that most wear with pride.  It’s more than a title but a statement that their loved one gave the greatest gift, the gift of life as their final act in this world.  As a donation community, it is our responsibility to honor these heroes and their families left behind.  Join us as we learn from the organ procurement organization (OPO), hospital, and donor family perspective on how to plan for and coordinate and to see some examples of donor memorials.

Target Audience:

Members of the donation and transplantation community serving diverse populations to include administrators, coordinators, physicians, nurses, surgeons, managers, quality improvement specialists, social workers, and other donation and transplantation center professionals and their colleagues.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the webinar the participant will be able to:

  • Identify three considerations or challenges when planning for a donor memorial.
  • Develop a planning process for a donor memorial.
