Purpose/Goal:

Have you or your staff been feeling stressed, complaining without offering solutions, experiencing somatic symptoms? You may be burning out or experiencing compassion fatigue or practitioner decay. We teach our patients and clients to care for themselves, but sometimes neglect ourselves in the process. The cost of losing experienced people in time and money to search for and train new staff and volunteers can be averted with a little TLC. Join this informative and fun discussion about what you can do for yourself and your staff to assess, prevent, and treat compassion fatigue while improving coping skills for dealing with personal and professional grief.

Target Audience:

Members of the donation community serving diverse populations to include administrators, coordinators, physicians, nurses, surgeons, managers, quality improvement specialists, social workers, and other donation professionals and their colleagues.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the webinar, participants should be able to

  • Utilize a burnout assessment tool to identify at least three symptoms of compassion fatigue.
  • Describe three interventions to manage stress & stay in PEAK Performance Zone.
  • Create a self-care plan that can be taught to colleagues, staff, volunteers and caregivers to prevent burnout and improve coping with personal or professional grief.
