Purpose/Goal:

Successful organ transplantation restores fertility and affords recipients the opportunity to consider having children.  In this webinar, we will discuss how the National Transplantation Pregnancy Registry (NTPR) collects and analyzes data about transplant recipients who become pregnant and who father pregnancies.  We will share some stories from the over 2000 recipients who participate in the NTPR.  We will also present our findings over the past 25 years and how they have influenced the counselling and care of transplant recipients.

Target Audience:

Members of the donation and transplantation community serving diverse populations to include administrators, coordinators, physicians, nurses, surgeons, pharmacists, managers, quality improvement specialists, social workers, and other donation and transplantation center professionals and their colleagues, as well as current and future transplant recipients.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the webinar, participants should be able to:
  • Summarize the NTPR, its impact on the transplant community, and describe how and when to contact the NTPR
  • Describe pregnancy outcomes in solid organ transplant recipients
  • Explain the different maternal and newborn outcomes among the various solid-organ transplant groups (i.e., kidney, liver, heart, lung, kidney pancreas)
