Jennifer Porter has been working in the field of Social Services for over 20 years. She began her professional career with the Community Care Services Program through the Georgia Division of Aging prior to joining DFCS. Ms. Porter has experience working in all social services programs and has held various positions with the Department including Case Manager, Supervisor, multi-county DFCS Director, and Training and Development Specialist. Ms. Porter also teaches undergraduate college courses in the area of social sciences part-time. She enjoys mentoring and teaching others about the field of child welfare.
Ms. Porter has served on numerous committees, boards and organizations aimed at the enhancement of well-being for children and families in the agency and multiple communities. Ms. Porter holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Human Services with a minor in Criminal Justice from Mercer University. She earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from The University of Georgia and has completed all but dissertation requirements for a Doctor of Public Administration (DPA).
