1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Pre-Conference Workshop
This workshop aims to inspire participants to 1. to expand your active roles in implementation of effective practices, and 2. to invite an implementation planning process to influence building workforce capacity and confidence. We'll share ideas to engage staff enthusiastically with a statewide initiative comprising of a set of promising social work practices, as well as lay the foundation for development of curricula that is relevant, vibrant and ultimately, impacts the experiences of youth and families in child welfare. Using examples from Bay Area Academy's approach to the California Child Welfare Core Practice Model (CPM), we'll present a roadmap which trainers can use with jurisdictions so that curriculum and the structure of a training and coaching series is integrated with an implementation planning process. We'll cover highlights from this process, such as staff teaming and co-learning through development of learning objectives, leadership team co-coaching and testing out implementation coaching in counties we serve. Implementation of a new set of practices is nonlinear, so we'll discuss some ways that ongoing feedback loops can shape the planning of each stage.
