Building & Evaluating Promising Alliances to Reduce Secondary Trauma in the Child Welfare Workforce (Part 1)
Sunday, October 20th, 2019
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Pre-Conference Workshop
The Quality Improvement Center for Workforce Development (QIC-WD), funded by the Children's Bureau, examined secondary traumatic stress (STS) levels of 1,000 child welfare workers in five sites as part of needs assessment processes to inform each site's selection of a workforce development intervention. Two sites identified STS as a root cause for frontline staff turnover and are implementing Resilience Alliance (RA) along with additional components to reduce STS levels and ultimately staff turnover. Participants will understand how these interventions are being implemented in these sites and how the QIC-WD is building on past evaluations of RA.
