Join us in a humorous approach to building the instructional designer / faculty subject matter expert relationship. You'll not only laugh -- but also learn more about yourself and your approach to sometimes challenging situations.

Penny Ralston-Berg, Senior Instructional Designer, Penn State World Campus
Penny Ralston-Berg is a Senior Instructional Designer for the Penn State World Campus. She also serves as the Quality Matters Coordinator for Penn State. Her research interests include student perspectives of quality, instructional design practice, and the use of games and simulations in online instruction. She is the 2017 recipient of the QM Directors' Award for Exceptional Service and is currently the chair of the QM Instructional Designers Association.

Eddie Andreo, Associate Vice President for Distance Learning, Cowley College
As the Associate Vice President for Distance Learning at Cowley College, Eddie leads the Instructional Design processes and administers the online campus component of the College by facilitating technology-rich instruction and learning through collaborative curricular innovation. Eddie is also a Certified Peer and Master Reviewer and QM Facilitator. He has trained upwards of 1500 faculty in Applying the Quality Matters Rubric and other Quality Matters Professional Development.

James "JJ" Johnson, Senior Director of Eastern Online & Instructional Technology and Design, Eastern Washington University
James "JJ" Johnson is the Senior Director for Eastern Online & Instructional Technology and Design for Eastern Washington University, in Cheney, WA (near Spokane). He is the QM Coordinator for Eastern, as well as a Quality Matters Master Reviewer and Online Course Facilitator. JJ is also an adjunct assistant professor for Pierce College in Lakewood, WA, teaching computer information systems and networking topics.
