Twists and Turns: Challenges Faced Conducting International Death Claims
The presenter will discuss a few international investigations covering three different continents. The challenges faced obtaining information, following leads as they are identified, obtaining cooperation from local authorities, how political civic concerns can create road blocks and how persistence and patience can be the greatest asset used to develop a conclusion. In the most challenging cases it takes boots on the ground to achieve the level of cooperation necessary to obtain the desired documentation and cooperation from civil servants focused on present local concerns over foreign inquires.
