Noel A Vest, PhD, Stanford University
Noel Vest is currently a doctoral candidate in the experimental psychology department at Washington State University in Pullman.

His dissertation project examines the impact of depression and pain among individuals receiving opioid substitution treatment.

Noel also helped draft, testify on, and advocated for the successful passage of the Fair Chances in Higher Education Act in the 2018 legislative session in Washington state.

He has numerous first author publications in top tier journals and recently presented at the National Conference on Higher Education in Prisons.

Noel earned is Associates Degree at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at WSU – Tricities, and his Master of Science in experimental psychology at WSU in Pullman.

Noel is in long-term recovery and works tirelessly to advocate for people in recovery, especially formerly incarcerated individuals.

Noel is a board member of the justice involved advocacy group Civil Survival, a member of the legislative committee for the Washington Recovery Alliance, and a member of the student ambassador board for the Association for Recovery in Higher Education.

Noel also co-founded Cougs for Recovery, a registered student organization for students at Washington State University.
