Maureen Babineau, MA, Independent Ed Consultant, Maureen Babineau Consulting, Independent Educational Consultant
Maureen Babineau is a person in long-term recovery. As an independent educational consultant, she connects students and families to collegiate recovery, and continues to support their college persistence efforts through ongoing student success coaching. Maureen holds a wide array of experience in higher education, to include teaching, research, assessment, coaching, advising, consultation, and grant-writing. At the college level, she taught courses on adolescent development, academic development, and research methods. She has researched and published on the persistence of nontraditional, first-generation college students, and community college transfer students. In addition, she has several years of experience in the nonprofit sector working with adolescents. Prior to her career in higher education she held several positions in the human service and treatment fields. She earned her Associate of Arts from Holyoke Community College. A first-generation nontraditional student, she transferred to Mount Holyoke College as a Frances Perkins scholar, where she earned her B.A. and M.A. in Psychology. Babineau is a resident of Hampden County where she lives with her husband and son.
