She has a master’s degree in social service management from Bryn Mawr College and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Delaware. Amy has worked in the field of substance use disorders and recovery since 1991 as a social worker, counselor, educator, administrator, and advocate in the criminal justice system, the treatment system, and higher education. She is passionate about supporting students in recovery from both a micro and macro level. As a social justice activist, Amy views people in recovery as an underserved population—poorly understood and often invisible. She believes in advocacy and activism towards equity for underrepresented populations and identities.
