Dr David Chastain, PhD, CSAC, Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies, Assistant Professor
Dr. Chastain has worked in the field of addiction treatment for over 30 years. He has held leadership positions in inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient treatment programs working with both adolescents and adults. Dr. Chastain has held the Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor credential from the state of Wisconsin since 1994. Dr. Chastain holds a Master’s Degree in Addiction Studies, with a thesis on the importance of highly individualized treatment and recovery plans, and a PhD in Counseling with a dissertation addressing the experience of solitude for people in recovery from addiction. Dr Chastain is an Assistant Professor at the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies where he teaches Ethics; Group Theory & Process; Families and Systems; and Grief, Loss and Death.
