2019 ARHE/ARS/AAPG Conference Schedule

Erik Dolgoff, MEd, MCAP
Mr. Dolgoff entered recovery while completing his undergraduate studies but was unaware of the existence of collegiate recovery programs until after his graduation. He laid down the foundational work at his undergraduate university in order to centralize resources for students such as himself. After graduating as valedictorian, he worked for the American Psychological Association, Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. He later went onto graduate from Vanderbilt University with his master’s degree where he was actively involved in their collegiate recovery program. However, his passion for helping students struggling with addiction and mental health issues had always remained with him.

Currently, Mr. Dolgoff serves as a Student Ambassador for the Association of Recovery in Higher Education. He is completing his collegiate recovery impact project by assisting the student led organization, Wildcats Anonymous, at the University of Arizona, transition from a student led organization to an identified and recognized collegiate recovery program on campus. Furthermore, he is working as a clinician at a local outpatient center in the Tucson area, Burning Tree West, whose sole focus is on college students with a substance use disorder and or other mental health issues. He hopes the data collected from this survey will assist in program development and individualize the treatment needs for this population to better assist them as they transition into academic settings.
