For years, The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation's membership program had been a reliable performer. But in 2016, as the Foundation relaunched acquisition in support of a major new project (construction of the Statue of Liberty Museum - opening Spring 2019!), we realized they were facing a challenge: How could we expect to build a modern 21st century museum with a renewal program established in 1982?
It was critical that the Foundation could retain all the new donors they acquired, and to do so, their existing membership program would need a reboot.
This presentation by Nadia Lee of The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. and Genevieve Cox of MKDM will offer a case study of how an organization reinvented their legacy renewal program with great creative, strategic testing, and multi-channel efforts to re-engage their existing membership population and recapture their newly acquired donors.
