Unmet Needs in the Management of Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder in Premenopausal Women
Description:  A total of 530 women completed an IRB-approved survey designed to gain insight into the diagnosis and management of hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD). Among respondents who discussed their HSDD symptoms with their physician/therapist, 82% initiated the conversation themselves. While respondents generally had positive perceptions of their physicians/therapists, 18% believed their HCPs were not aware of HSDD as a medical condition, and 16% felt their HCPs did not take their concerns seriously, indicating a need for improved HCP education.
Objective(s): At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to: recognize the need for improved health care provider education regarding the diagnosis and management of premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder.
