Everything You Wanted to Know About Moisturizers and Lubricants: Counseling on Products and Sexual Activity: Results From a Community Sexual Medicine Clinic
Description: An in-office survey was completed in a random sampling of heterosexual women who attended a sexual medicine clinic. Most reported improved comfort during coitus, improved sexual pleasure with lubricant use. Fifty percent of women engaged in anal sex whereas 70% engage in aqua sexual. Silicone lubricant offers an excellent choice for a variety of sexual situations, and has acceptability, with noted improved sexual satisfaction. Water based lubes that have flavors may offer some dynamic sexual enjoyment for the couple.
Objective(s): At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: discern the different characteristics of silicone and water based lubricants;  distinguish between 510K FDA cleared vaginal products; identify appropriate characteristics to help their clients make educated decisions concerning sexual aids.
