Two-Spirit Bodies - Sexual Sovereignty and Erotic Survivance of Indigenous LGBT+ People
Description: The study of human sexuality is transdisciplinary, and examines the socio-cultural, religio-political, and physio-psychological aspects of the human experience. This workshop reflects some of the socio-cultural aspects of human sexuality and examines the intersecting issues of race, culture, and pleasure. Two-Spirit Indigenous sexuality will be used as the grounding focus to center Two-Spirit bodies as necessary for decolonial ideologies. To decolonize sexuality is to challenge the dominant discourse surrounding human sexuality and to forge a new narrative.
Objective(s): At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to: identify and discuss issues impacting the sexual health, wellness, and pleasure of Two-Spirit people and communities.
