Development of an Interprofessional Graduate Level Online Certificate in Sexual Health Program
Description: This program is designed for current and aspiring professionals across health and education disciplines. The aim of the program is to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to facilitate learners to become best practice professionals in sexual health and to become proficient in the sexual health field by describing the development of a program at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta. The faculty initiated development and delivery of a four course graduate level Certificate in Sexual Health program (12 graduate level credits, 156 hours of content) in a fully online format in order to reach both urban and rural health practitioners, educators, and graduate students across Canada and internationally.
Objective(s): At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to: explain a process of developing accessible graduate education in sexual health; identify facilitators and barriers to developing successful online education in sexual health; report on program uptake and interest.
