Mike Stringer, Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT)
Mike Stringer has worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) for 30 years. He is currently the Bureau Chief of Local Projects in the Division of Engineering and Design and has been in the position since July 2016. Before moving to his current position, he worked in the Division of Operations as an Area Engineer and then as a District Engineer.
Prior to joining KDOT, he worked for a consulting engineering firm in Overland Park and New York for 8 years.
Mike is a graduate of the Missouri School of Science and Technology (formerly the University of Missouri at Rolla) and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He has been a licensed professional engineer since 1984.
He has been a Kansas Supreme Court Approved Mediator since 2006. He firmly believes that the skills and practices acquired through dispute resolution training can be applied on a daily basis and not just at work. He does caution that if your spouse or significant other is also trained in dispute resolution, it can be hard to start a big argument.
Mike lives with his lovely wife on 40 acres in southern Osage County near Pomona Lake.
