Nikki MacMillan, Topeka Habitat for Humanity
Nikki Macmillan is a life-long Topekan and Washburn University graduate. She is a skilled community organizer and tireless advocate. Nikki started her career serving victims of violence and creating coordinated community responses to better serve victims. She is currently working as the Director of Community Engagement at Topeka Habitat for Humanity, she strives to increase the agencies impact through creative collaborations, volunteer engagement, neighborhood revitalization, and advocacy. Nikki sees the dignity and potential of every individual she meets. She strives to engage diverse populations in becoming a part of the solution to ending substandard housing. A consummate volunteer herself, she gives her time to many organizations including; Arts Connect, the YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment, and the Managers of Volunteer Engagement (MOVE) Topeka Chapter. She and her family actively participate in many community events always instilling a sense of community pride and a desire to improve the quality of life for their fellow Topeka residents. She is an enthusiastic promoter of the city who puts her formidable skills to work making it a better place to live.
