Denise Dias, M.S., K-State Research and Extension- Johnson County
 
 
Denise Dias (rhymes with "bias") began her Kansas extension career in 1996 in Linn county, where she was a family and consumer sciences and 4-H agent. In 1998 she transferred to Sedgwick county and specialized in clothing and textiles, housing, and indoor environment. Additional duties were added in 2000 to include foods, nutrition, and health. In 2012, a decrease in county dollars eliminated the clothing program in Sedgwick county and Ms. Dias was moved into the foods and nutrition program permanently. Ms. Dias is currently celebrating 21 years in extension. She is passionate about teaching and learning. In her spare time she enjoys sewing, cooking, and practicing her new skill of spinning fiber. She is married with two grown children and a sassy yellow cat named Daisy. Denise has a deep understanding of urban extension programs and enjoys sharing her expertise with Johnson County residents. She holds a B.S. in Home Economics ? with a specialization in Consumer Textiles from the University of Nebraska, an M.S. in Apparel Marketing from Kansas State University, and a Master's of International Business and Leadership from Friends University.
