Ann holds a B.S. in Secondary English Education from The College of Saint Rose and a Reading Specialist M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University. Ann has been working as a Reading Specialist in New York City schools for over 6 years, and for the past 4 years has served as an Adjunct Professor in CUNY Hunter’s Department of Special Education Graduate Program. Their passion is teaching using the principles of andragogy so that students can develop strong connections between reading skills and their authentic experiences. They also coach teachers in best practices for embedding literacy strategies into content area classrooms.
They wrote a Content Area Literacy 101 Guide that was published by the mastery-based grading organization, Kiddom, and used by schools nationwide to support teacher growth.
