Dr. Maria Langworthy is the Worldwide Director of Education Research at Microsoft. Her research focuses on how use of technology can accelerate learning and how education systems are transforming to meet the needs of 21st Century learners. To support Microsoft Education's commitment to improving learning outcomes for all learners, Maria leads projects worldwide examining how the use of data and analytics can drive system, school, pedagogical and digital tool improvements.
Prior to joining Microsoft in 2016, Maria was the Senior Officer, Strategic Data at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In that role she developed progress measurement strategies for the K-12 education team. Previously, Maria served as the Global Director of New Measures for the New Pedagogies for Deep Learning project led by Michael Fullan.
