Alan is the Chief Information Officer for Catholic Education in the Diocese of Wollongong on the South Coast of NSW Australia. This system of Schools has 29 Primary Schools and 9 Secondary Schools educating over 22,000 students.
Alan came to Catholic Education having practiced as an electrical engineer in several NSW Government Departments, including Senior Networks Manager with the Department of Education NSW.
Alan is an Electrical Engineer majoring in Communications and has a Masters in Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney. He is currently studying for a Doctorate in Information Technology for the Charles Sturt University.
Alan is a keen advocate of Technology in Education and a support of open source software and hardware and encourages the use of tools such as Arduino, Raspberry PI and Linux in schools. He is also an amateur radio operator (VK2GLA).
