Jim Corns
Baltimore County Public Schools, Director of Innovation and Digital Safety
I have worked in public education for 24 years in four counties in the state of Maryland. I began my career in Kent County, on the Eastern Shore, as a third grade teacher. In my 6 year teaching career, I taught 3rd, 4th, 5th-8th technology, and was a media specialist. I was then hired to the position of Network Administrator and held that position until hired to the Supervisor of Technology. In 2010, my family and I opted to move to St. Mary's County as I accepted a position in St. Mary's County Public Schools as the Director of Information Technology. After four years in SMCPS, I accepted the position of Chief Operations Officer for Instructional Technology in Washington County Public Schools. I am currently the Executive Director of Information Technology for Baltimore County Public Schools and have recently earned my CETL Certification.
