Dr. Vaille has a more than a quarter century of experience in just about every aspect of education?from the classroom and administration in K-12 to the leadership of an international professional society. John has taught kindergarten and the elementary grades, prepared teachers to use technology with their students and taught graduate students at MIT, Stanford, and Pepperdine Universities.
After three years as superintendent for a Central California school district, Dr. Vaille served Lake Washington School District as its Assistant Superintendent/Chief Technology Officer from 2007-2012. Dr. Vaille retired from the Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) as its Assistant Superintendent/CIO in 2015. The PSESD serves 35 school districts, more than 200 private schools and 383,000 preK-12 students in the Seattle area. John lead the implementation of student data systems for PSESD's race-to-the-Top grant in 2013-2015.
Dr. Vaille has served the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) as its first Chief Executive Officer. He was, until recently, the past chair of the CoSN Certification Governance Council overseeing the CETL certification. Currently Dr. Vaille is actively engaged with technology planning and consulting with school districts in California and the Pacific Northwest
