Brief Session Description: Much has been said of the possible impact of automation in the near future. There's no doubt technology is changing rapidly. In this session, Eric Braun will discuss what thought leaders have to say, including Brynjolfsson and McAfee from MIT and renowned author Darrell West. We will look at major trends in technology and learning to see how they may converge to provide a more adaptable and flexible future for workers. This is one of a few plausible scenarios we'll review based on a month-long scenario planning project Eric led at MIT in 2018. The outcomes led to a vision of the future that changes the way we should look at education and learning.
There will be 1 or 2 hands-on activities to warm everyone up to scenario planning and divergent thinking, followed by discussion of what the attendees think the future of work and learning will be by 2030.
