Room: Broadway I (Hilton Portland Downtown)
Format: Concurrent Session - 60 Minutes
Track: Large District
Brief Session Description: Education leaders are increasingly investing in personalized learning models and tools to improve student outcomes. In this session, educators from Williamsburg Charter High School in Brooklyn and Fresno Unified School District will share how they use analytics from digital tools to close achievement gaps, improve teacher capacity, and evaluate the effectiveness of curricular materials.
Over the last 2.5 years a unique partnership between Fresno Unified, Microsoft Education, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Digital Promise has helped drive Fresno's Personalized Learning Initiative. This initiative is improving teachers' capacities and increasing student learning outcomes.
At Williamsburg Charter High School, a partnership with Kiddom has supported the school's intervention team in making sense of data to create engaging, differentiated literacy lessons for students at risk of not graduating, and using digital curriculum tools to facilitate more opportunities for collaborative planning.
Join us to hear both partnerships' stories of developing data governance, of ensuring student data privacy protections, of doing analytics for improvement cycles, and of developing personalized curriculum.
