Brief Session Description: Leading a district into the year 2030 means hiring an effective CTO, CIO, or Director of Technology, and for the CTO, hiring a technology team that works well together to implement the district's vision for technology. In this session, we will share strategies for hiring the CTO and building an ed tech team. For the superintendent, we will discuss hiring a CTO - how to assess and frame key needs, what to look for in candidates when building your technology and innovation team, and most importantly how to assess the capabilities of applicants. For ed tech leaders, if you are thinking about seeking new opportunities, you will hear how to demonstrate your core strengths. In addition, you will hear about best practices for hiring the ed tech team members, building a strong culture, and enabling your team to achieve the goals of the district.
