Brief Session Description: In order to remain effective in carrying out their mission, large organizations transition through frequent planning and implementation lifecycles for technology. Beginning with strategy, and moving through to design, deployment, maintenance and retirement, technology requires constant vigilance and tremendous resources to ensure services are aligned with the clients they are serving. For K-12 education this means serving our staff and students with the best supporting technology and accompanying processes we can create. While still incredibly valuable, often the scope and requirements of Enterprise frameworks are unworkable for smaller school jurisdictions. In this session we will examine approaches for translating large enterprise frameworks into workable and practical outcomes that increase effectiveness in serving staff and students in small to medium sized jurisdictions. Emphasis will be on the ITIL framework with additional attention paid to how emerging machine learning technologies can serve us better in this technology lifecycle.
