Brief Session Description: School districts use a lot of different systems that collect student information in one form or another. They have a student information system (SIS), but from there, things start to get a little fuzzy where, for example, a math application that track how well a student is learning multiplication tables. The question becomes, how protected should that information be?
Today, developing a data privacy governance program is not the job of one person or one team. It is a multi-stakeholder endeavor that requires a detailed roadmap in order to avoid the potential potholes, wrong turns, and detours that are inevitable on trips to new or previously never encountered destinations.
