Veteran Employee Resource Groups: What are they and why they matter
Track: Higher Education Track (Sponsored by The College Board)
Employee resource groups (aka ERGs, affinity groups, or business network groups) are groups of employees who join together in their workplace based on shared characteristics or life experiences, such as military service. ERGs are generally based on providing support, enhancing career development, and contributing to personal development in the work environment.

This presentation provides student veterans with an opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders who manage Veterans Employee Resource Groups (VERG) for their companies. Student veterans will learn what a VERG is, why they should explore companies who have an established and thriving VERG, and the benefits a VERG provides them.
