Upon leaving service in 2013, Camden enrolled in an undergraduate program at the University of Southern Maine. While studying Criminology and Leadership & Organizational Studies, Camden became involved with his local chapter of Student Veterans of America and USM's VA work-study program. He became a facilitator of the University's Green Zone training, a program that trains faculty and staff on the unique aspects and needs of student veterans. Furthermore, Camden became the first Team Leader of USM's Peer Advisors for Veterans Education (PAVE) program. PAVE is a peer support program that connects incoming student veterans with student veterans already on campus.
Camden earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Leadership & Organizational Studies in 2016 and his Master of Arts in Leadership Studies at the University of Southern Maine in 2018. In his role as the Assistant Coordinator of Veterans Services and a School Certifying Official, Camden is responsible for certifying enrollment and processing all VA education benefits. He also manages the University's VA work-study program and oversees the Veterans Resource Center.
