Karen Munden, Virginia Cooperative Extension/VA Tech, Senior Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent
Co-Presenter Bio: Karen Munden received her Master’s Degree in Merchandising Management with a minor in Marketing from Michigan State University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics in Business from Virginia State University. She has also received a Housing Counselor Certifications through the Virginia Housing Counselors Association and the Virginia Housing Development Authority. Ms. Munden is the Senior Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Extension Agent and Unit Coordinator for Virginia Cooperative Extension, City of Virginia Beach. Ms. Munden has more than 35 years of managerial experience including developing and implementing operational budgets, providing employee training and supervision, evaluations and recommendations, and providing employee conflict resolution and counseling. She has an array of experience in planning, developing, implementing, conducting, and facilitating workshops, trainings, and seminars. Ms. Munden’s responsibilities as the FCS Extension Agent include conducting Financial Literacy, Housing and Consumer Education workshops and seminars that include money and credit management, housing issues, home maintenance and care, and consumer education awareness.
