Dr. Janice Peterson, California State University, Fresno, Professor of Economics
Bio: Janice Peterson is a Professor of Economics at California State University, Fresno, where she also served as Director of Economic Education for the Center for Economic Research and Education of Central California. Prior to joining the faculty at CSU Fresno, Dr. Peterson worked as a Senior Economist at the U.S. Government Accountability Office and a Study Director at the Institute for Women's Policy Research. She was also a faculty member at the State University of New York, Fredonia and Wells College. Her research interests include labor and public economics, workforce and income security policy, financial literacy and economic education. Her work is widely published, including articles in the Journal of Economic Issues, Review of Social Economy, Forum for Social Economics, International Journal of Pluralism and Economics Education, International Review of Economics Education, Journal of Social Science Education, and the Social Security Bulletin. Dr. Peterson holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, a M.A. in Agricultural Economics (community economic development) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a B.A. in Economics from California State University, Fresno.
