August 8th, 2018, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM: AM2 Concurrent Session
Dept of Early Learning
Track: All/Other
Category: Pathways to Equity: Family Engagement
Session Description: Child and family outcomes are the driving force behind early intervention services. The type and frequency of services as well as who the family's providers will be are determined by the outcomes set by the team with the family at the center. Because they are such an important component of the IFSP it is crucial that the outcomes be functional, routines based, measurable and meaningful. Learn the components of a great functional outcome and ways to effectively gather information from families through activities that give you the opportunity to practice your new knowledge and skills.
Learning Objectives. Please share 3 key objectives:
1) Understand what a functional outcome is and why they are important to use in Early Intervention.
2) Identify when to write a child and family focused outcome and when to write an FRC outcome.
3) Describe effective strategies for gathering information from families.
4) Identify the components of a functional outcome and learn how to write one.
