Session Description: Neuroscience tells us that students learn best when they have an authentic emotional connection to what they are learning. The arts help young children identify personal connections and make meaning of their worlds. Explore how the arts can teach students to identify and manage intense emotions, build social skills and develop resilience through supported risk taking.
Learning Objectives. Please share 3 key objectives:
1) Learn arts infused (visual arts, theater, and dance) strategies for identifying and expressing emotions.
2) Use theater and dance activities to build social skills and de-escalate conflict.
3) Develop skill in using observational feedback loops to strengthen student confidence and resilience through art making.
