Session Description: Counting, cardinality, subitizing and measuring are all things that both artists and mathematicians do. Join us for a hands-on, minds-on exploration of the many ways you can use the arts to help toddlers and preschoolers develop confidence and competence in math to enter kindergarten ready to learn. Arts Impact's model of arts infused learning has been proven to increase kindergarten readiness and close opportunity gaps for children of color and those experiencing poverty.
Learning Objectives. Please share 3 key objectives:
1) Learn to identify concepts that are authentically shared between math and visual arts, theater, music and dance.
2) Demonstrate mathematical thinking practices through the arts.
3) Develop skill in giving criteria-based feedback to strengthen student confidence and competence in arts infused math.
