Session Description: This one-day workshop will provide teachers of early childhood (Pre-K to 3rd grade) with a comprehensive overview of the process of language development. They will develop strategies for effective and engaging learning activities. Participants will also understand the importance of assessment and how to use the data to guide instruction.
Learning Objectives. Please share 3 key objectives:
1) Participants will learn about the connection between oral language and later reading & writing skills.
2) Participants will gain deeper understanding of the components of Phonological Awareness and developmentally appropriate instructional strategies for all students.
3) Participants will investigate print concepts, alphabet knowledge, and the pathways to becoming a writer.
