Session Description: This interactive workshop is designed for teachers who want to learn more about teaching students with dyslexia. Using current, convergent research on what causes reading and writing difficulties and what effective instruction requires for students to overcome them, teachers will gain immediately applicable skills for use in their classrooms.
Learning Objectives. Please share 3 key objectives:

1) Participants will learn how understanding the foundations of English benefits all emerging literacy learners and is essential for students impacted by dyslexia, related learning disabilities, and others for whom literacy is a challenge, including emerging bilingual students and those from underprivileged backgrounds.

2) Participants will learn the attributes and strategies of Structured Literacy Instruction and how these work together to build the foundational skills necessary for reading and writing.

3) Participants will gain strategies for effective teaching strategies.
